[It's a last ditch effort, Emma going to find this Lily and bring her to Storybrooke in the hope that somehow that can foil Gold's plan. Emma's going through a rough time right now, with everyone being so afraid that she'll turn dark at the slightest provocation, but he's the only one who doesn't overreact at the tiniest hint of something not particularly savior-like.

Which is why she asked him to come along on this trip. Also so that she could show him some of her world. Mostly because she trusts him to help keep her grounded, and understands that sometimes it isn't possible to be the hero all the time.

He'll keep her on track, even if some people might be reluctant to admit it sometimes.]

[ She knows that this isn't going to be any easy trip for anyone, especially herself, but there is a lot riding on her shoulders. God she has to find a way to keep it together. Somehow she has to keep it together, not just for herself, but for everyone else too. Which is why she wants Killian with her, he seems to be the only one not waiting for her to fall off the edge into darkness. Struggling with it is one thing, but the weight of seeing everyone she loves believe the worst about her is almost too much. ]

Yeah, let's get out of here. [ The smile she has for him isn't much, but it is at least something she can give him before climbing into the driver's seat of her bug. ]

[Even a little smile is better than none. It shows she's making an effort, at least, and that's a good sign. He'll be here to help her through the effort, and help her discover what sort of person she is. For his part, he believes she's the good sort, but not above doing what's necessary to save her family. And there's nothing wrong with that.]

I don't know if friend is the right word. [ There's obvious heaviness to her words as she starts up the car. This isn't a trip that she is looking forward. Not after everything that happened. The sting of betrayal has never really quite gone away. ] I just want to get this over with and get back home.

Whoever she is then. Gold isn't going to get away with what he's doing just because he's the one doing it.

[Not enough people question him or dare to tell him no, and he's had enough of it. This isn't about Gold getting his way or not getting his way, it's about Gold not changing who Emma is.]

No, I'm not going to let him get away with this. [ He isn't the only one tired of Gold's actions. Emma hates nothing more than manipulations. That's all this man has done. Never getting his hands dirty but content to be the puppet master behind everything. That's the worst kind of cowardess. She is determined to stop him. Make him pay. ]

Then what do you say we reunite her with her mother? [Maleficent may have been on Gold's side at one point, but all she wants now is her family back. He can't fault her for that, or for realizing that Gold isn't offering what she wants. He's much easier to handle when it's just him.]

That's exactly what I'm planning on doing. [ She can't change what her parents have done. She can't exactly make up for it. But maybe, just maybe she can put back together a broken family. That's the very least she can do at this point. ]

You're a good person, Emma, and it wasn't any curse that made you that way. [He firmly believes that, and will believe it until something proves him wrong. Which nothing will, because he's right.]

I don't know what I think any more, Killian. I just want to get Lily and try to make up for what my parents have done. [ She wishes that she could just reach over and take his hand, it would make her feel so much better. ]
